About Collin Fox

Collin believes financial advice should be clear, personalised, and actionable, and most importantly, give you peace of mind and clarity about your financial future. His approach starts with understanding what’s important to you, then designing advice around your values, priorities, and lifestyle, so your financial decisions feel confident and wellconsidered.

Collin began his career in financial advice in 2004, and for more than two decades he has helped people solve financial problems and make informed decisions about their money. Over that time, Collin has gained extensive experience across different advice models and business environments. While this gave Collin a strong technical foundation, it also showed him that that not all advice businesses are built with the client’s best interests at the centre.

That realisation ultimately led Collin to establishing his own practice built on a genuinely client first philosophy, free from product bias or volume driven advice. Collin Fox Financial Planning was created to ensure can be delivered with integrity, transparency, and care, and where long-term relationships matter more than short-term outcomes.

At Collin Fox Financial Advice we are passionate about people, the goals that matter most to them, and using smart, thoughtful financial strategies to help them achieve those goals. Whether you’re preparing for retirement, building wealth, or simply wanting greater control and confidence in your daytoday finances, our role is to support you with guidance that is practical, honest, and ongoing.

We are committed to longterm client relationships and providing stability, clarity, and support through every stage of your financial journey.

Estate Planning

Estate planning ensures your wishes are carried out and loved ones supported. I guide you through options with estate professionals, creating a plan that aligns with your financial strategy and provides peace of mind.

The client journey

A clear, considered process from first conversation to long-term partnership  designed to give you confidence at every step.

Initial Discovery Call

We begin by understanding your personal circumstances, priorities, and financial position. This stage focuses on gathering information and developing a clear picture of where you are today.

Clarifying Goals Meeting

We work together to define your financial goals and timeframes, ensuring any advice is aligned with what you want to achieve across different stages of life.

Analysis & Research

Your financial position is analysed in detail, including assets, liabilities, cash flow, tax considerations, and risk exposure. Research is then undertaken to identify suitable strategies and options.

Strategy Discussion meeting

Depending on the scope of works we may meet again to discuss findings, explore strategic options, review financial modelling and agree on the most appropriate direction before formal advice is prepared.

Advice & Recommendations

You receive a personalised Statement of Advice outlining recommended strategies, clearly explained and tailored to your circumstances.

Implementation

Once agreed, recommendations are implemented with you, with coordination across product providers and professionals where required.

Ongoing Review & Advice

Regular reviews ensure your strategy remains appropriate as your circumstances, goals, and legislation change over time. Whilst this is not mandatory, for most clients there is immense value and benefits on an ongoing service arrangement. We will advise on this and explain the pros and cons for you to decide.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The advice process is structured and transparent. It begins with understanding your circumstances and goals, followed by analysis and research. We then discuss strategy options, formal advice is provided, recommendations are implemented, and your plan can be reviewed over time.

Advice fees depend on the complexity of your situation and the scope of advice required. All costs are clearly explained upfront so you can make an informed decision before proceeding. In some cases, advice fees can be deducted from your superannuation account, reducing out of pocket expenses.

Timelines vary depending on complexity and how quickly information is provided. Clear expectations are set early in the process, so you understand each stage and what to expect.

Ongoing advice is optional and tailored to your needs. It ensures that we are on hand to help with changes as they arise and take advantage of any further strategic options into the future. Many clients opt for at least an annual review, with the flexibility to adjust or cancel ongoing service at any time.

Ongoing professional development ensures advice remains current and compliant.

We use financial modelling to help you compare choices and understand the long‑term impact of different decisions before they’re made.

This may include modelling scenarios such as:

  • Paying down debt versus investing surplus funds
  • Selling an asset now versus later, and the tax consequences of each option
  • Making additional superannuation contributions compared to investing outside super
  • Retiring earlier or later, and how that affects sustainability of income
  • Structuring investments differently to improve after‑tax outcomes

Financial modelling allows us to compare options side‑by‑side, and understand how decisions may affect your wealth, cash flow, and tax position over time. This helps ensure strategies are chosen deliberately, with both long‑term outcomes and tax efficiency in mind.

Yes. Where appropriate, we work in collaboration with your accountant, solicitor, mortgage broker or other advisers to ensure strategies are aligned and actioned in your best interest. This collaborative approach allows us to take the lead as the centre point of your wealth needs, saving you time and leading to better overall financial outcomes.

I welcome everyone to reach out to see what service offering can assist you the most.

  • I specialise in pre-retirement and retirement planning, assisting people to understand how much is enough, and when they can retire with the confidence that they can meet their lifestyle needs for the long term.
  •  I assist wealth accumulators that find they have a cashflow surplus, debts are lower or manageable and are now wondering how to make the most of their current opportunities.
  • I specialise in inheritance planning for those that have or are about to receive a large sum of money, assisting and advising on how best to use these funds, including debt repayments, superannuation contributions, personal investments, or a combination of all the above. Or, for older generations who want to consider gifting assets to their children sooner rather than later, I advise how to do this safely.

For many people in their 40s and 50s this is the decade where financial momentum really builds - improving cashflow, reducing debt, strengthening investments, and finally seeing long-term goals take shape. I help bring structure, confidence, and clarity to this stage of life so you can make the most of your progress and set up the years ahead.
